- Collect all medical and charitable donation receipts (Sleeve C)
- Check last year's Notice of Assessment for allowable RRSP deduction
- Reconcile revenues and prepare Accounts Receivable (Record on Insert D)
- Complete Business use of Home Expenses (Insert 16) Note: These expenses cannot create a loss but may be carried forward (Suggestion: Using CCA on your home may not be a good idea)
- Any T4's or other information slips received should be placed into Sleeve B
- Calculate capital cost allowance; you do not have to declare this expense and it cannot be used to create a loss; however, it can be carried forward for future use (Insert 12)
- If you need to prepare T4's for employees, remember that they must be done, filed and forwarded by February 28 (Keep your copies in Sleeve 8)
- If you are going to buy RRSP's , the deadline this year is March 2
- Be sure you have all of your original expense receipts attached to any credit/debit card slips
- Calculate any credit card interest charged on business purchases or cash advances (see Insert 19)
